Hello,

My name is Nick Rhodes and I’d like to welcome you to my site. I decided to start Tidewater Sheds after several years in the construction industry throughout Virginia and North Carolina. My trade experience consisted of being a union carpenter in the highway, bridge, and concrete industries – followed by several more years in construction management after graduating from Old Dominion University. Years later, after various roles on various projects, I decided to step out and do things on my own.

Most recently, I owned and operated my first woodworking business, Ascend Woodworks LLC, which allowed me to design, create, and build practically anything made of wood for a variety of customers. It allowed me to work independently, work with my hands, and let my mind get lost in building cool things for awesome people.

However, while the wide range of woodworking and carpentry projects were fun, I sometimes felt like a “jack of all trades, master of none.” It had also stretched me too thin, as the business I was running was actually running me. I decided that I would have to niche down and choose one thing and one thing only.

From my years of industry experience to the joy of building with my own hands – and my love for being outdoors – Tidewater Sheds was born. I look forward to building the perfect shed for my new customers with the same professionalism I displayed throughout my career, and the same level of detail I’d poured into all of my previous woodworking projects. I look forward to serving the Tidewater area and I hope that you’ll trust me with building your shed project.
